The story opens with the night animals and the day animals exchanging roles – as one lot falls asleep, the others awake…and so too does the boy farmer, who is back for his daily dose of farmyard fun. As you may recall from the first Farmyard Heroes story, “C.I. Quest”, the farmer is deaf and has cochlear implants, which help him to hear. He loves to listen to all the farmyard sounds (from the hogs and horses to the hounds) and he’s never happier than when he is surrounded by all his animal friends.
While this book features a deaf character, it is not specifically about hearing loss; it is a delightful, humorous and inclusive story for all children to enjoy, whether or not they have hearing loss.
